Intermittent connections

The hosts are marked as online in the viewer but as soon as we try to connect, the host goes offline only to reappear a few seconds later and we still cannot connect to it. We can still connect to them using RDP with VPN without Remote utilities when remote utilities doesn't work. The logs on the server and hosts say nothing. RDP connection through RU "reconnects" constantly

... port-scanning bots hitting the RDP port and crashing or locking up the OS. Exposing RDP to the internet seems a bad idea, at least it was causing enough issues for me to say enough and find a better solution. For the time being I am implementing a VPN at his office, and will use that with standard RDP. If you fix the RDP over ID issue, please do let me know. Thanks for a very nice product! Jeff


RDP connection through RU "reconnects" constantly

I want to use RU for this, but we may have to revert to direct RDP, or I may have to install a VPN tunnel instead. Author: Ron Brennan. No, I'm not trying to connect over a VPN. I mentioned that it is installed, but it's not connected when I'm trying to get a direct connection with Remote Utilities. I did try using an IP address instead of a domain name, but that didn't help. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Author: Benny Tucker. If you are connecting over VPN, try using the IP address instead of domain name. That has worked for me in the past.


Internet-ID stopped working

... through the IP address after I open some ports on the RV042 router (device shows offline after I logoff but can reconnect). Using Bitdefender managed AV and it is currently disabled for testing. I can also connect via local IP address on LAN through a VPN. Host 6.6.0.2 Viewer 6.6.0.3 - not sure what versions the other users tried from other locations.
