Restart and reconnect work / don't work
... locations behaving the same way. Can't figure it out myself. Looks like the host doesn't start as it should or find what it expects when starting again after a reboot. The only thing I can think of that may confuse RU host and viewer is that I've had VPN active to the destination networks. That makes the source address of the viewer change between sessions.

Author: Conrad Sallian. Ronnie, I understand. But Remote Utilities is just a tool for actually viewing/controlling remote PCs via its own remote desktop protocol. There are no VPN capabilities built into Remote Utilities. It's a different kind of software. However boring it might sound, you might want to try VPN-based solutions like Hamachi or Pertino for that :)

I'm still thinking that something's hindering ID connection on that specific PC. There's no other explanation, off the top of my head at least ...

Regarding the tunnels etc. RUT does not create a VPN tunnel. However, if the network environment on either side (remote or local) is restrictive and only allows port 443, the program automatically uses port 443 provided that you connect using the Internet ID connection.
