Internet-ID access for free version 5.x is extended for another week

Internet-ID access for free version 5.x is extended for another week

We re-enabled access to our Internet ID servers for free license users of version 5.x for another week. If you can only access your Hosts remotely, please upgrade them all to version 6.x by following this tutorial.

Please, note that on August 21, 2015 we will terminate access to our Internet ID servers for free license users of version 5.x forever. Make sure that you have all your installations upgraded to version 6.x.

Thank you!

Free license users are required to upgrade to version 6

Free license users are required to upgrade to version 6

We would like to ask our free license users to upgrade Remote Utilities to version 6 until August 10, 2015. Your license will still be free as it has always been - you only need to upgrade the program itself. Starting August 10, 2015 access to our Internet ID servers for old versions (i.e. 5.x and older) registered with a free license key will be restricted.

This upgrade is a part of our plan to further improve the security of our software and make it less prone to being falsely detected as malware by antivirus programs. In version 6 we implemented mechanisms that made it a lot harder to tamper with RU files and use the program for malicious purposes undetected. In addition, version 6 has a lot of improvements and bug fixes and is more stable overall. See the Release Notes.

Follow this tutorial in order to upgrade your installation. If you are a paid license user of version 5.x and you want to continue using that version, you do NOT have to upgrade. Nothing will change for you. However, we still recommend that you upgrade to version 6.
