Hello,
I am having trouble connecting to older host versions (6.x.x.x). I had the temporary key, however, it has expired yesterday 2/14. I have some computer's that are hours away from where I am and I want to find out how to update them remotely. Do I need to purchase a full license? I have already used a free key from my email and that did not allow me to connect to them still. I have my viewer updated to the latest version, we have so much computers using the previous host versions and hope we can push updates rather than going to each computer and updating them manually
Please help,
Thank you!

Hello Tristan,
Thank you for your message.
Unfortunately, in order to connect to a remote Host via Internet-ID connection, you need to have both Host and Viewer upgraded to the latest version 7.1.2.0.
It's possible to upgrade Hosts remotely via the Simple Update feature or by just running the Host installer of the latest version (available for download on this page) on a remote machine manually. However, in both cases you need to be able to connect to a remote Host machine somehow.
Unfortunately, since the temporary license key we've provided for upgrading purposes in already expired, you can only upgrade the remote Hosts manually by running the installer on the Host machine. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Hope that helps.

I had a remote system that was using 7.2.2.0 and the viewer was at 7.6.1.0. I downloaded the host on the remote system and started the installation. It had to remove the older version but when it did I lost remote access to the system. How is one supposed to do a remote upgrade to systems?

Hello,
Thank you for your message.
Could you please confirm if you had updated your Viewer to the latest version 7.6.2.0 before attempting to update your Host as described in this guide?
Looking forward to your reply.

I had 7.6.1.0 viewer. That was one version older than the current 7.6.2.0

No since I did not realize that there was yet another update a day after I had just updated the Viewer 2 days before. I just thought the banner notice was regarding the updated viewer I had applied 2 days before.

Hello Snowbound,
The five-day gap between the two versions was due to a quick fix for some annoying bugs found in version 7.6.1.0. It’s possible that you were caught in between, ending up with Viewer 7.6.1.0 and Host 7.6.2.0. Installing Viewer 7.6.2.0 should resolve this issue.
We apologize for any inconvenience. We always aim to avoid releasing new versions too frequently, as updating remote access software can be a bit of a hassle due to its dual nature. However, this time, a quick update was necessary.
Thank you for your understanding.
