File Transfer crashing

Hello,
We have users who we are moving to use file transfer on remote utilities, however we have received many complaints regarding accessing some of the folders on the machines. They can connect just fine, but when trying to open certain folders on these machines, it crashes Remote Utilities entirely. I have experienced this myself as well. I was wondering if there are any mitigations (particularly folder size) that file transfer has? They have not tried to move any files over, it is just opening the folder themselves. They are all licensed as well (using a site license).

Hello,
Thank you for your message.
Remote Utilities doesn’t have any limitations on the size file. One thing you could check is that both remote Host and Viewer are updated to the latest version and there’s no version mismatch. Version mismatch might cause some small issues, especially since the File Transfer mode was completely revamped starting version 7.
If the issue occurs for updated Hosts and Viewers, please let us know.
Looking forward to your reply.

Hello,
We are using what I believe is the current version on all machines in question, being 7.6.2.0, for both the host machine, and the viewer that is installed.

Hi,
Thank you for the clarification.
Would you be able to specify the file type (is it an image, an audio or a folder with multiple files) and the approximate file size for some of the files that have failed during the transfer process?
Looking forward to your reply.

This is a problem that I have experienced before, and the fix for me was to either turn off Controlled Folder Access security, or at least add exclusions to Controlled Folder Access on all of my viewer machines. Haven't had that same problem since. Also, in the top left corner of the file transfer window, under the Access tab, make sure that you are running under the "System" option, and not a user account.
Hope this helps.
