Hello,

1)I have configured a single .exe file to create a new ID and password. Then I executed this file on the remote host, and I was prompted to send the ID to the specified email address. I clicked yes.

Q: Does this prompt come up only once and the user won't see any other prompts regarding email, right?

2) I was emailed the internet ID and the code which I copied onto RU client and was able to make a session. Although when I entered file transfer mode, I couldn't access C:\users\user-name\documents. I had an error when I tried to navigate to this path.

Q: Why can I not access the documents folder?

3) I'll be using RU for one host and one client. I have activated the free license on the client, but 30 days trial notification is still on. Do I need to buy a license for one host and client?

Thanks

Jasper

Hello Jasper,

Yes. The ID is persistent once generated, unless you manually change it afterwards in the Host settings. Therefore there is no need to send email each time the program is run and notify the user about that.

Q: Why can I not access the documents folder?

When you open the File Transfer window, in the Access menu try to switch from "Current user" to "System".

You need to restart/reopen the Viewer.

Hello Conrad,

Thanks for your reply. I might need to temporarily uninstall the RU on the host remotely. Can I do that without the remote user knowing? I need a stealth uninstallation. I have set UAC to "never notify me" option on the host pc.

Regards,

Jasper

Hello Jasper,

You could try the /silentuninstall command line parameter. See this reference page https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/documentation/main1/item86/

Hope that helps.
