Hi, I try to install the ltest version 7.2.2.0 and from the begining Edge is reporting the file like unsafe.
Then I try to install on several station with Bitdefender and the file is reported as malware - Atc4.Detection.
I open a ticket to Bitdefender.
Can you please check if there is something wrong in the code of the application.
I check both version which are released in October 2023 and both have the some behavieur.
I have Bitdefender on the station from 2022.

Hello Drideanu ,
Thank you for your message.
There is nothing wrong with the code of the application. There's definitely something wrong with how modern antivirus software work. They no longer even analyze the file - they use "artificial intelligence" systems to do the hard lifiting. And those systems are extremely error-prone.
If there's something wrong with Remote Utilities 7.2.2.0 why would about 66 antivirus solutions (according to VirusTotal data) classify the software as clean? Whereas only 7-10 of them mistakely detect it as a threat and remove the classification with apologies when we submit a false positive? This is the same story with each new release :)
As for Microsoft - they added Remote Utilities 7.2.2.0 in Microsoft Store. So it's ridiculous that they mark as unsafe the very software they accepted in the store. See the MS Store download links on the download page https://www.remoteutilities.com/download/ . If you don't trust our website you can download the program from there (these are the same distributables).

Hi, Drideanu
Here is how you can help us fix the false positive in Microsoft. Simply try to download the Host file by following this link in Edge:
https://www.remoteutilities.com/download/host-7.2.2.0.exe
And then, if Edge says that the file was blocked because it's unsafe, click the '...' icon and select 'Report this file as safe'. Here it is with screenshots https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/forums/forum5/2664-microsoft-defender-smartscreen
Thank you.
