Package download host file is broken

I have downloaded the host/viewer package 7.1.1.0 and I want to report that the host exe is not installing. I've tried everything I found in the help section...no go. It hangs on the screen "prepare" I downloaded the free file "host.msi" and it installed without any problems !!!

Could you please let us know the OS of the machine where the issue occurred and if there's any antivirus/firewall software installed on this machine?

Support level: Free or trial

Windows 8.1 Antivirus/firewall is installed, but I had both disabled before installing Remote utilities 7.1.1.0. I have tried all the solutions I found on the forum. It is only the host.exe download in the bundled version that is causing the problem. The host MSI I tried next works perfectly.
