I'm no longer able to access a host computer, and the end user doesn't have admin rights. I prepared an agent package with the intention of logging in and reinstalling the host, but everytime she tries to run it, she gets the UAC popup, and not having the admin password, cannot proceed. Is this an issue with windows 8.1, or could it be a setting i have changed?

If i can provide anymore info, please let me know

Hello Marc,

I'm no longer able to access a host computer

Could you please elaborate on this. Does the Viewer asks you for access password? Or is it not able to access the Host at all (Host shows as being 'offline')?

P.S. You won't be able to use Agent on the same computer where the Host is running, because these both modules are essentially the same.

I have the viewer set to remember the password, but when i try connecting it sits on the pause button symbol for several seconds, perhaps 10 or so, then fails. When i was first deploying the host to our computers, i had 2 of them that would just not connect. Reinstalling the host fixed it. Since then, i have switched all our employees to windows user accounts, and only i have the admin password. Since this user doesn't have the admin password, they cannot reinstall the host, which was why i was looking to use the agent to gain access, so i can reinstall the host, so i can regain access to this device.

If i understand correctly, i can't use the agent in this fashion, since the host is already running on that computer? Is this why running the agent gets a UAC popup?

If so, how can i go about regaining access to this host device? Is there a method of seeing why the connection fails?

Yes, that is correct.
