So I'm trying to create a new Agent.exe
Firstly I get the message "Host is running and must be stopped" so i stop it.
Than I get the message "Host is installed and must be uninstalled" so i uninstall it.
Than I get the message "Host is installed and must be uninstalled" no it isn't so I clean my registry and restart
Now I get the message "File 'C:\path\to\file\host6.3.msi' is not an actual MSI-package of the RUT Host" so I re-download it straight from your website. Still keep getting the same damm error. What is going wrong?

In order to entirely wipe the Host settings, you need to delete this key:Stefan Lenders wrote:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/Remote Utilities/

Hello Stefan,
So you uninstalled the Host, removed the above-mentioned registry key, you are not having the Agent the running. Correct?
You run the Viewer as administrator, try the MSI configuration process - and you receive the error. Is that the case?

Yes i uninstalled it. Removed above key and I don't have an agent running
Viewer is opened as administrator (else you can't even open MSI configuration process)
Than I get the error indeed.
If I now try to reinstall the plain MSI file I get Error 2753. The File 'rutserv.exe' is not marked for installation.
Can I say that this package terribly uninstalls it self? This also fucks up our AD software distribution alot.

Hello Stefan,
If you have issues with installation/uninstallation on your PC, feel free to run this tool from Microsoft to fix these issues https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/program_install_and_uninstall . I assume that it's because of those problems that you cannot run the MSI configuration properly on that PC.
If it were the case this forum would have been flooded with messages about package not uninstalling itself correctly. Besides, there is nothing special about the uninstaller - it's plain Microsoft MSI installer, we didn't invent the wheel. Can I say that this package terribly uninstalls it self?
