Connecting Speed Limit

HI everyone,

I really love RU - but when I connect home through the internet,
it seems like the "upload speed" for transmitting the screen is limited by its speed.
(Around 45kb/sec to 60kb/sec)

So it results in laggy screen transmission even when only 16 colors mode activated.

Is there any setting, that RU host uses the full bandwith of internet?

I also went through all points mentioned here:
https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/documentation/main1/item116/

I got two modern PCs on two 100mbit internet bandwiths connected, both Windows 10 64 bit.
And the issues remain.

Thank you

Hello Rene,

We neither limit nor control the bandwidth used by Remote Utilities. It always uses the full bandwidth. I'm afraid that the issue is elsewhere. BTW, do you 16-bit color or 16 colors? These two are different things.

Thank you.

well, thats the odd thing - other remote administration tools like <censored>, or <censored>, run way more better and smooth than RU.
So I can say that the bandwith etc is more than enough.

I am using 16 colors - and tried both network modes (standard/economy)

I really dont know what I can try more...

Rene,

other remote administration tools like Remote Desktop (MSTSC) from Microsoft

If you use MS Remote Desktop does that mean that you can connect directly to the remote PC using its IP address? Do you do the same with Remote Utilities, or do you use Internet ID connection instead?

I connect direct to my PC.

I used to use <censored> (you should know that )
and that "protocol" works also little bit better than the new RU.

If I can help you to find the issue, let me know!

Rene,

If you are connecting directly using the IP address of the remote PC, there shouldn't be any issues with speed provided that you have good network connection.

Also, please note that different programs have different initial (default) color settings, and some of them can even automatically adjust the quality depending on the speed "better". If you want to compare apples to apples, just set exactly same connection settings in different programs.

Please, note that we do not tolerate comparative and general statements like "Product X is better (faster, cheaper etc.) than Remote Utilities" here on this forum. All such messages will be deleted without warning and the user will be banned.

Thank you for your understanding.
