Conrad,

I just installed 6.6 and the offline issue is fixed.  But, it broke my connection to my local RU server.  I cannot log in to it with 6.6.  Other users with 6.5 login fine, so it does not seem to be a issue with my local server.  I have a mixed environment of connections, some going thru the public server and others on my private server.  The connections via public server is working fine.

Thanks,
John

Hello John,

The server has also been updated. It is now version 2.6. Could you please update it also and see if the issue persists.

Conrad,

I just updated the server to 2.6.  Now, when trying to login, I get an error that says: "Address Book Error.  Invalid username or password."  But, oddly enough, I AM logged in.  I can see the sites on the server and I can attach to them.  The main viewer window says "Sign in" in the upper right hand corner and it does NOT indicate that I am signed in as before.  BTW, everything on the public servers looks and works fine.

Also, attempting to use the 2.5 viewer now crashes when trying to log in to the 2.6 server.  I get the following error and then it goes into an infinite attempt to login and just sits there.  I have the rest of the error report if you need it.

Hello John,

Thank you for the report. Our engineers are currently looking into the issue. Looks like this could have something to do with encoding issues in the IDE environment that we use. Anyway, we will do our best to fix the problem as soon as possible and update the installers in the download section.

We'll also change the version number so that you can distinguish the updated version from the current one.

And we're back to showing everything offline.  Only now, I'm unable to connect to anything.  I'm certain these systems are online, otherwise, my phone would be ringing constantly (and I made a few calls to confirm).

Everything was fine yesterday.

FYI, I'm on version 6.6 final of the viewer using public Internet-IDs.

Hoping for a fix ASAP, as I need to support my clients.

Same here.  All public server based connections show offline.  And, unlike before, we are unable to connect to them.

Is there something going on with your public servers?

Thanks,
John

Hi Martin,

This is temporary. We made some changes to the public server so that this online/offline bug no longer appears in version 6.5 (so it was a retrospective fix). To eliminate the bug in version 6.6.x.x we'll release an update in a couple of hours (6.6.0.3).

So please do not downgrade, just wait until we put a new version on the site. That should fix the problem.

Ok, just to make sure that there are no more issues, here is a 6.6.0.3 build for you to test before we officially publish it. We did quick in-house testing and didn't find problems, but your feedback is welcome:

UPD: The new version has been published. Download from the download page.

Note: If you have issues updating Viewer from 6.6.0.2 to 6.6.0.3 (e.g. error messages), then manually uninstall the Viewer first using the Windows Control Panel and delete the file config_4.xml that you can find in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Remote Utilities Files\. Then install 6.6.0.3.

Also, Offline/Online problem is no more both on 6.5.x.x and 6.6.0.3.

Looking forward to your reply.

P.S. It is also recommended that you upgrade your RU Server after you update the Viewer, although Viewer 6.6.0.3 must work with Server 2.5 without a problem.

6603 is working.  Online and Offline show properly, and connections are active.  I only use the public RU server, so I cannot comment on the hosted server module.
