[resolved] Poor performance Blank Screen

so i have been using remote utilities successfully for two months now.  all of a sudden I have this problem.  The performance from my viewer to my host is VERY slow even though I have it configured with low funny colors.  It works for like a minute or two then I get a blank screen when viewing my host from viewer on my remote computer.  I have tried restarting the host computer it did not change anything.  I cannot go to my work computer till Monday so I have not tried reinstalling yet.  Any other useful suggestions.

Viewer Pc:
Windows 7

Host Pc:
Windows XP

DSL connection at host and comcast at viewer PC why is it so slow??????????????????  Even when it worked it was pretty slow.

The command line still works was able to send shutdown /r /f command.  also command line displays properly.

Please, try to recall whether you changed any settings in the Viewer and/or Host. Or maybe there was a new Windows update on the remote PC, new software installed, a change in network access policy in your company, an antivirus update that caused placing remote Host into a restricted group etc.

I did change the network set up.  First I had wireless set up used it this way for most of the time.  Recently I directly hooked up the Ethernet cable to the router.  Improved performance vastly.  Had to go back to wireless connection because boss man made me move the router.

now that I went back to wireless this has started happening.  I thought that this should not be the problem as I am using the unique ID thingy to connect to the host.  Instead of the old crazy remote desktop type configuration.

same antivirus the whole time AVIRA.  I will check once I can get in front of the machine to make sure remote utilities did not get on any restricted list.

When saying "wireless" what specifically do  you mean? Is it a wireless connection to a router set up in your company (connected to a DSL line) or is it an independent wireless provider available at Host location?

wireless like in using a wifi adapter to connect to the same said router I was connected to via Ethernet.  My company uses ATT DSL service 600 Mbs connection speed only two computers at work.  

The motorola DSL modem is hooked up to my Buffalo router.  Initially the host computer was connected via WIFI to this network.  Then I hooked up to the router via Ethernet then I had to go back to old configuration.

odd when I reinstalled Remote Utilities my key code was already there I did not have to reenter it.  Did I uninstall it improperly or something?

Also I checked the firewall exceptions and I see that remote manipulator system - server is checked as an exception am I correct in assuming this is your program?

There's a registry key that contains settings and your license key (encrypted) in case you re-install the program later.

Yes, that's another name for the program.

Blarg, try to enable "Economode" (Connection properties -> Network -> Network usage mode) to see how it goes with it.

reinstalling worked!  i did not think it was a network throughput problem as I have been using the application for some months now pretty flawlessly.  Also the command terminal worked just fine I just got a blank black screen when using full control.  I could not see anything and everything was weird.  Now its back up and running smoothly.  

Thank you for all your hand holding it has been appreciated.

For example, some program files corrupted by antivirus software without notice. Easily.
