All newest version of the downloads and new installation. I am running RUServer and it all appears to be correct. Hosts show up on the server with the correct Internet-ID, I can connect to the server as admin from any client, 5655 & 5670 are reachable from the outside. All looks set to go.
When I configure a host computer it gives me an ID, blue dot, and shows up on the server as idle with the correct ID and name.
When I configure a client computer with the correct ID it shows as online. However, when I try to login it does not prompt for a password and immediately gets placed in the offline list. Ten seconds later it shows online again. No error messages.
I have gone through EVERYTHING I can thing of - turning firewalls off on both ends, no anti virus, etc. and looking for some new ideas. Probably missing something obvious but at this point I have NO idea what.
Any clues?

Thanks Conrad, should have thought to do that. Below is what I get. I redacted the server info. It doesn't log anything about a viewer connection. I tried from multiple internet connections to test outgoing client port. Server is a dedicated static IP with DNS name and runs other services without a problem. No conflicting ports and I can latch 5655 & 5670 just fine. Remote admin works perfectly. Having trouble finding something else to rule out. I have gone through all the possibilities one the "connection problems" page as quite a few others. How can I troubleshoot further? Thanks for the help...

Hi Glenn,
The log looks ok - it seems that the Host successfully establishes connection to your server and is ready for connection.
I'm afraid that the connectivity (network) issue might be on the Viewer side. You should check if the Viewer PC can communicate with the server PC and if the connection is stable (you can try the ping -t command, for example).

Glad it isn't just me. It's a real head scratcher because the same computer I am running the viewer on reaches the server, shows the remote admin panel with idle hosts, and I can login to the server through the viewer without a problem. Like I said, I am out of ideas for ways to check anything else that I haven't tried already.

Thank you Conrad. I will keep up with that thread and see if I can find a resolution. Will also send some Viewer logs as you suggest.

Hi Keith,
This is because the Viewer only knows that the Host version changed after it logs in on the Host. The online status just shows if the Host is available - other information, such as Host version number etc. isn't transferred in this mode.what i have noticed though is i have upgraded my older hosts but the viewer still show that they are running an older version until i log in

I am having the same issue. I had an old viewer but matched host. I tried updating the viewer but still have an issue where it shows online, then upon connecting the host goes offline. Can you help with this?
