Hi I am new to RU. Yesterday, I setup the host on a win 8.1 (unchecking integrate with firewall) and was able to connect to it from another laptop using internet identity. I also setup the host on a windows 2012 server but not able to connect to it. I followed all necessary instruction I found in this forum, opened the inbound and outbound ports but it did not help. I then disabled completely the firewall which di not help neither. I always have a grey ball on the tray icon. I checkec the log, I see a recurring 96 error code as follows which I am not able to find and explanation on this site, thanks for your help

Thanks Conrad, I have already followed instructions in this Kb, even I turned off windows 2012 firewall but still the circle is grey and getting the 96 error code in the log. I even stopped the windows firewall service in the services panel but it did not help.

Conrad I am getting the same error a Salam ( Internet-ID ErrorCode <> 0Error code: 1).  Can you please tell how to fix this error.  I can get a new Internet-ID but it is a gray circle always.


System Info:
Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit - Service Pack 1.
No firewall enabled
No antivirus installed

Thank you for your message.

Could you please perform the following steps:
1. Uninstall Host.
2. Delete %AppData%\Remote Utilities Files folder.
3. Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Remote Manipulator System folder from your Registry.
4. Reboot your computer.
5. Install Host from that MSI.
6. Reboot your computer.
7. Generate new ID.
