im not sure if your familiar with  [censored] but there is a feature that [censored] has. when I login to a remote pc it requests username/password,domain etc. just like remote utilities, however if the pc or server is locked or not logged in when I click on the send control alt delete [censored] pops up an option to login using the credentials already supplied. is it possible to have a similar/same feature in remote utilities
this will probably only be relevant when using domain/nt security  but it saves me from having to enter credentials twice and for security reasons all servers/workstations are set to auto log off after a period of time. so every time I connect the server or pc will be locked the feature  [censored] has comes in quite handy.

thank you for your consideration

Mike

Hi Michael,

First, sorry for the "censored" thing but we don't allow competitor names on the forum. But I understand what you mean.

I've added the feature into our wish/feature tracking list. This means that it has a good chance to be implemented in one of the upcoming versions.

Thank you!

Hi Conrad,

No problem with the censored, I understand completely. I should have realized this. I apologize.

I appreciate your consideration regarding the feature request.

Thank you

Mike

Hello,

Is this feature planned for the upcoming version ( 5 years since the last post on this request…) ?
It will be very useful and save a lot of time !

Thanks for your consideration regarding it. ;-)

Hi Stéphane,

Thank you for your message.

This is a tough question, to be honest. Saving Windows credentials on the Viewer side might not be a good idea from the security viewpoint. Yet we will discuss this suggestion with our development again.

Hi Conrad,

Thank you for your response.

I understand the security problem, but when you have hundreds of connections, you can't remember all credentials. In this case, credentials are probably saved in clear in an unencrypted file outside of the viewer or in the viewer comment area of the connection. So, from security viewpoint it's worst.

To best overcome the security problem, maybe this feature should only be allowed when you are connected to a custom RU server or perhaps reclam RU server authentifcation request each time you want to use it (only your RU Server credentials to remember) ?

Hi Stéphane ,

You are absolutely right when you say that this feature would help manage lots of connections. Actually we do have some thoughts how to best implement it as my colleagues from the development has just confirmed. We will do our best to implement that in the future.
