We installed both Host and Viewer on a clean Windows 8 machine, and run CureIt! check. There was a "No threat" report.

Can you please update your CureIT virus definitions database (or download CureIT from Dr. Web site) and try to check again.

Anyway, as Dr.Web told us in response to our false positive report, this specific alert is not a virus or malware. It's "potentially dangerous software" (because it grants remote access). So getting this kind of alert from your antivirus software doesn't mean that your computer is infected.

Dr.Web recommended adding the program (be it Remote Utilities or other remote desktop software) to the exceptions list.
