Host and Agent availability for Linux and Mac

So three years now, no host/agent for Mac or Linux. Lack of this feature (mainly Mac) really crimps my business I am trying to run with your software. As a tech, I can run a viewer on pretty much any OS, I have multiple Windows versions, multiple Mac versions, and multiple Linux distros/versions all available for ME to use. Unfortunately, none of that helps me remote IN to a client's Mac or Linux PC so I can assist them.
I can't speak for anyone else, but without that support I can not justify upgrading my license because version 7 offers me absolutely nothing I need vs version 6. On the other hand, if version 7 had Mac host/agent support (Linux would be nice too but not required) I would not only upgrade from 6 to 7, but I would happily pay FULL PRICE instead of the upgrade fee.

Host installer prompts can not be suppressed in 6.10.10

I used the MSI configuration tool to create a new package to replace an older version I was running. The older version (6.10.5 I believe) just installed, never asking questions, no pop-ups, nothing, totally silent.
The new one, even when I check the box to "Do not ask for confirmation before installation" still pops up a box asking a question (see attached).
I have tried twice, the second time making absolutely sure I checked that box, same thing. Other than that the installer works fine.
Am I missing another checkbox?

Tried one time and it didn't work, just wondering if that has changed. Would be really helpful to be connected through the agent and realize I need the host installed for permanent access, click a button and get it installed.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Just wondering if there has been any progress on a Mac agent (and/or host). This would REALLY make my life easier. I would also like a Linux host but that is less needed for work and more for fun.

Hello Christopher,
We have this feature on our roadmap, although we cannot give any precise ETA. Anyway, thank you for your feedback, it's been very helpful. :)

Well bummer. That would be a nice feature. The majority of my support sessions are either to a server which already has host installed, or to an end user that has no need of a host and just runs the agent for a one time session. You are not missing anything. Currently, "converting" Agent to Host isn't available. So in order to install the Host it's better, to choose the "conventional" path, that is prepare a one-click installer, and have someone run it on the remote PC when they close the Agent.
However, the converting feature is on our wish list and we'll implement it some time soon.
Occasionally however I get an end user that I know will need help later and it would be nice to be able to install the host at that time right from the agent. Glad it is on the wish list!
That would be nice. Right now I just drag and drop to get the occasional file so it isn't critical.Thank you for the order! We will do our best to re-write the File Transfer mode later this year to make it quicker.
Thanks for a great product and particularly for all the affordable licensing options you have. That really helps out the small business guys.

I attempted to install host while connected through agent the other day and it did not work, kicked me off. I tried to search but didn't see an "approved" way of installing the host from the agent, what am I missing?

PS. Just bought my license, really enjoying the product, looking forward to a faster file transfer folder browsing experience you all were talking about back in December.

I certainly understand your reasoning, and agree with it. Unfortunately what bothers me is this.....

That image is a composite of four screenshots. I took the same computer I used previously that gave the warnings about Remote Utilities, running the same antivirus, and tried several different remote programs. In the image above you see that Norton gave the unconditional green light to [censored] , [censored] , AeroAdmin and ConnectWise.

Seecrean also ran without problems although since it runs differently, Norton never said a word, good or bad.
The only one I ran that had any problems other than Remote Utilities was [censored] Admin. ROMViewer triggered a screen from Norton complaining about a valid digital signature however it also showed that the file was fine and all it prompted the user to do was click OK.
All of this is provided FYI in an attempt to help you get it corrected with Norton. I hope it helps.

Getting back into contact with the clients and walking non-technical user through it again was not something I wanted to burden them with so I found another PC and removed it's antivirus. I then went online and downloaded the 30 day free trial of Norton Security and installed it. I activated it and ran the live update to get the program and its definitions up to the latest versions.
Next I went to my support website and downloaded the agent.exe (which is a newer version, and customized, than the one I had my clients originally install). Here is what happened:
Immediately after the file finished downloading (from selecting Run in Internet Explorer)...

Without clicking on anything, this window appeared:

After clicking Run This Program Anyway I receive this window:

After selecting Allow This Program To Continue everything goes normally (UAC prompt, then program appears with ID and password ready.
Hope this helps.
