3rd and 4th screens black after upgrade
Thank you for the clarification.
I checked with our developers on the issue. The multiple display handling also depends on the remote monitors' configuration. Could you please clarify if the remote monitors are rotated? Also, could you clarify the scheme of how the remote displays are located?
Also, try switching the CPU usage mode to Normal and setting the Color Format to 24 bits as it will reduce the CPU usage.
Looking forward to your reply.
RU server address book lost all entries
Thank you for your message.
Yes, to migrate your address book(s) and sync settings, please copy the contents of this folder:Is there a backup of the address book I could restore?
C:\Program Files (x86)\Remote Utilities - Server\datato the same location in the new installation. You can also copy the Logs and Stat folders if you need the logs.
Also, here's a relatable KB guide on migrating the RU server installation, it might be helpful as well: https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/kb/how-do-i-migrate-ru-server-self-hosted-server-to-another-pc/
Hope that helps.
Customize auto-import
Thank you for your message.
Could you please clarify if you're using the Auto-import feature? This feature can replace the Send via email feature available to you within the MSI Configurator and save you a lot of time manually adding connections to your address book.
If you do use the auto-import feature, could you please clarify if I'm right in assuming that your feature request is having multiple Inbox folders for different address books? If you mean something else, please elaborate a bit more on the question.
Looking forward to your reply.
View multiple windows of remote PC on two monitors of local PC
Thank you for your message.
Could you please clarify if you tried to choose Fullscreen view or the Fullscreen stretch view on the Toolbar in the Full Control and View window?
If you haven't tried yet, please do and let me know if this works for you.
Looking forward to your reply.
AD and Address Book
Thank you for your message.
We recommend using Dropbox or OneDrive option for the Address Book synchronization only if you're the only user. For a multi-user environment, it is recommended to use the sync server instead.something like syncing the Address Book using Dropbox or OneDrive is not going to work. We really do not want to have to install the RU server. Is there really no other way??.
Unfortunately, there's no other way to synchronize the address book between multiple techs' Viewers. Here's a guide on setting up the address book sync: https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/docs/setting-up-sync-server/
Yes, if the Viewer PC belongs to the Active Directory network, new AD tree record are fetched automatically. However, you can add additional domain controllers using the Add domain controller dialog as well. Also, would the Address Book automatically update and add a new PC when is added to AD? or do we have to manually add it?.
Hope that helps.
Cannot enter text of license key into License Key Storage window
I'm glad to hear you have figured out the issue!
I'm sorry to hear this, but it's clarified in this guide on registering Remote Utilities.I will say that it is not intuitive which box one should try to paste into, the large upper one or the small lower one. Once a key is pasted, it is clear where to enter data. But for the first entry it could be labeled "enter code here."
Please let us know if you have more questions.
Cannot enter text of license key into License Key Storage window
Thank you for the provided video.
I'll forward the issue to our developers to see what can be done to fix it.
I'll get back to you with their reply soon.
Cannot enter text of license key into License Key Storage window
Thank you for your message.
Unfortunately, we couldn't reproduce the issue. Could you please clarify if there's any other license key already added to your License Key Storage? If there's no other license key in the storage, could you please record a short video where the issue can be seen and send it to support@remoteutilities.com?
Looking forward to your reply.
Can you see your FPS (frames per second) during a connection?
Thank you for your message.
Unfortunately, there is no such feature and we do not plan do implement one.Is there a way where you can you see your FPS during a connection?
The chosen FPS value only matters if the FPS is chosen as the CPU usage mode. If any other CPU usage mode is chosen, there's no FPS limitation. Generally, FPS values are conditional as it's slightly different from the regular video format and there are special algorithms that pick the right value. Also, is it capped at the dropdowns 25 or if you have it on "High" cpu usage will that get you better than 25?
You might also try some solutions that are listed in this KB article: https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/kb/slow-remote-connection-speed-performance/I'm using it with a work machine and trying to get it as responsive as possible.
Hope that helps.
