How to upgrade to version 7 if I'm a free license user?

If you are a free license user of version 6.x.x.x and didn't manage to upgrade in time before February, please follow the instructions below. You'll be able to upgrade your installations and continue using Remote Utilities for free.

1. Upgrade your Viewer to the latest version as described here.
2. Download this temporary license key and add it to your Viewer by following this registration guide. With this key you will regain access to your Hosts.
3. Update your remote Hosts via the Simple Update method.
4. Generate a new free license key using this form.
5. Remove the temporary license key from your license key storage and register your Viewer with the new free license key as described here.

Now you can continue using version 7 of Remote Utilities for free.

Please feel free to post your questions or feedback in the comments.

Hello Russ,

Thank you for your message.

Please make sure that you're using the latest version of Remote Utilities 7.1.2.0 which is available for download on this page. If you use version 6 of Remote Utilities, please note that access to our public Internet-ID servers was discontinued for version 6 of RU, and in order to continue using the Internet-ID connection method you need to update your RU installation to version 7. For more information please also see this page.
In addition, please note that the duplicated threads on the forum have been removed according to our forum rules. Please avoid creating multiple threads, as we always make sure to reply to our users. Thank you for your understanding.

Hello,

Thank you for the clarification.

Unfortunately, the only way to see the Hosts that are connected to the RU Server and displayed in the Idle tab is only via GUI, i.e. in the RU Server's Admin Console. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Please let us know if you have other questions.

Hello Mikael,

Thank you for letting us know.

We will immediately submit a False Positive report to Microsoft. Meanwhile, please also try adding the Host installation folder to the exception list as described here just in case. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello,

Thank you for your message.

Could you please elaborate on your question a bit more? Do you mean that you want to see all Hosts that are connected to the RU Server (i.e. displayed on the "Idle" tab) in cmd? Unfortunately, currently you can only view the list of Idle Hosts in the Server's GUI.
Here's also a list of all currently available RU Server's parameters in case it might be useful.

If you mean something else, please let us know.

Hope that helps.

Hello Ilya,

Thank you for your message.

Please note that the Full Control connection mode is Remote Utilities's own connection mode and RDP is Microsoft's technology and the accompanying software (Remote Desktop Services) that does the same.
Please note that the RDP connection mode that you can see in Remote Utilities Viewer simply runs the Microsoft's RDP client, nothing more. Unfortunately, we have no control over how Microsoft's RDP client works.
However, perhaps this thread on the Microsoft help forum might provide a helpful solution.

Hope that helps.

Hello Graham,

Thank you for the clarification.

Unfortunately, we couldn't reproduce the issue. Could you please check if you have the Tabbed view checkbox enabled in the Viewer Options -> Remote Screen tab? If it's disabled, please try enabling this option on and see if this helps to resolve the issue.

Hope that helps.
