i uninstallted the software, as it normal, using control panel program and features.
really no reason to suggest the need for more by suggesting this https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/docs/installing-and-uninstalling/#Uninstalling_Viewer

but just now i followed the steps for removing the viewer.
including the deletion of folder C:\Users\user01\AppData\Roaming\Remote Utilities Files

then i start the portable version, running C:\data\c\remote.utilities\ru.viewer.portable\rutview.exe

for some reason rut RE-CREATES the folder C:\Users\user01\AppData\Roaming\Remote Utilities Files and then rut creates a file named config_4.xml
and when i exit rut, rut creates MORE NEW files in that folder.

after the update, no longer able to connect.

i removed both hosts from the viewer, tried to add the host again and that failed.

so i have lost control.

thanks,

1. the host has no way to tell the viewer that the update has completed sucessfully or has failed, is that correct?
2. if a user is working on the host computer, will the user notice the update process or is the update hidden from the user?

hello, i am a paid customer, using windows.

viewer= 7.0.1.0

for one internet-id host, viewer shows two entries, each with a diffferent version.

for example,
i have a computer, running agent.
when i try to connect to it, i get a black screen.
if i use rdp over agent, the rdp works.
only after that, does my viewer go from black to showing the actual screen.
