Hello,

One of those rare moments when it's not us who are getting blamed for the false positives, but the antivirus engine that generated them :)

Lol Conrad.

Well you know the argument could be made, that since you released the update Friday, then Windows Defender now detects it as virus few days later, that you all put something in the latest release that caused all this. Lol

But let common sense prevail in this situation. :)

Hi Manuel,

Yeah Microsoft released a new signature on Sunday and it seemed to have created a big problem with false positives in a lot of programs. On my personal computer I got 3 false positives with this same Win32/Hive.ZY, but it couldn't tell me which programs. I think it was probably related to a game I was opening.

Others reported that it flagged Google Chrome as false positive as well. See here: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-defender-falsely-detects-win32-hivezy-in-google-chrome-electron-apps/

Microsoft has released signature updates for Windows Defender so update it and test this again.
Current version is 1.373.1581.0

Hey snk-nick,
Not sure if you noticed, but while the screen is active, there is a gear icon that will take you to the Connection Properties. Select the Advanced tab and just check the box "Lock hosts mouse and keyboard" and click Ok.

But maybe you did notice and just asking for a 1 click solution instead of 4 clicks?

@Paul, @Philip,

Conrad said they turned off pinging for now. So don't use the pings as your sign that it's not working. Make sure to check your Viewer and see if your PC is online and if you can connect.

I can't ping their server, but mine has been working since they fixed it.

I was wondering what was happening why my PC was showing offline. Figured it was a connection to RU servers as my remote PC was up and connected and could connect directly via IP.

My PC just started showing online a few mins ago and I can connect just fine now using Public servers. I'm in the Caribbean.

Thanks Conrad. Could you explain what the issue was?

Hello Conrad,

Thank you very much for your reply.
I'm sorry, but where can I find my account login page?

Hi Werner,

Account login page is here: https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/customer.php
Or in the menu at the top of this website go to Support --> Customer Area.

Hope this helps.

dateno1, you said you are using latest version of RU Server, but your picture shows you are using 3.1.0.0.
Latest version is 3.2.0.0.

Update your RU Server and see if it fixes your issue.
Download RU Server from this page: https://www.remoteutilities.com/download/

All clients are showing as OFFLINE

Had this same issue on that day as well and I'm on Eastern Standard Time zone. Thought it was my ISP but the PC's eventually showed back online later in the day.

I had a laptop right next to me with RU installed and it wasn't showing online.

Could have been something on the internet highways that caused the issue.

General Address Book

Hi Adam,

I just tested this with my own setup. I created a sub-folder called PCs under General Address Book and dragged PC's from my Synced Folder to the PCs folder and then from the PCs folder to the General Address Book and then dragged it back to the Synced folder. No issues.

It maybe your address book folder location that is the issue. My Address Book is in the default location in the C:\Users folder on the C drive.
