Does the Linux beta not work on newer version of Linux? We have been testing Unbuntu 22.04 and the RU agent worked, its not as seemless or nice and the WIndows version but it worked. Ubuntu updated to 22.04.4 and now the agent wont stop. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the agent, but it fails to start.

Hello,
Thank you for your message.
We haven't received any other reports for similar issues regarding Linux compatibility. Would you be able to update your Linux Ubuntu to the latest version 24.04 and see if the issue still persists when using Agent with the latest version?
Looking forward to your reply.
Thank you for your message.

Installed Ubuntu Cinnamon 24.10 and Remote Utility is working again. I had to do a fresh install, because the upgrade from 22.04.4 LTS to 24.10 LTS broke they system. System errors all over the place.
That doesnt explain why going from 22.04.2 LTS to 22.04.4 LTS broke the RU.
I get this has been in beta since 2019 which seem like a long time. Im guessing Linux isnt high on the priority list or very few people use Linux in a production enviroment.
We have been using RU for seveal years in our Windows environment and it works like a charm.

I have a virtual environment here wh ere I could test and see what you were seeing but I am confused. In one paragraph you say you went from 22.04.4 to 24.10 (which does not exist) and in the next paragraph you say you went from 22.04.2 to 22.04.4. Could you please clarify?because the upgrade fr om 22.04.4 LTS to 24.10 LTS broke they system. System errors all over the place.

yesadmin,
We also tested Debian 12 and it does not work on the OS either. You can install the agent without errors or warning but it fails to start.

Going from 22.04.4 LTS to 24.04 LTS was the migration I did. Which broke stuff.
Im currently running 24.10

Hello yesadmin,
I will forward the issue to our development department to see if we’re able to reproduce it in our environment to implement a fix or if they’re able to provide any further feedback.
I’ll get back to you with an update on this shortly.

I have installed the remote utilities viewer on a linux mint, I had no problem with the installation or with the operation, the only detail is that if the host has 2 monitors, I can not choose to view independently any of the screens, I would appreciate that the function comes out soon.
thank you very much

Hello Rafael,
Thank you for your message.
We will definitely add multiple monitor support in the upcoming updates for Mac/Linux. I’ll also forward your feedback to our development team.

Conrad,
Nice update! Had to remember to switch from wayland to xorg but works great so far. Looking forward to future updates and arrival of the Host module.
Thanks,
Jim
