Hi,

Does the b3 host work correctly with the relay server in b2? I'm asking because I have installed b3 of host in a Windows XP PC, which is registered to connect to the b2 relay server, but using the b3 viewer, I cannot logon to the host PC, I get a "No response from server".

Hello everyone,

This is to inform you that we've released an updated version of Remote Utilities  6.12.3.0 Beta 3 + RU Server 2.9.6.0 Beta 3 . In this update, we've fixed the issue with Windows XP compatibility and also significantly improved the File Transfer connection mode. The full Release Notes list is available here. We're also preparing a more extended blog post in which we will share more information on the newly added features.

The latest 6.12.3.0 Beta 3 version (and 2.9.6.0 Beta 3 version for the RU Server) is available for download on this page. Please make sure to update Viewer and Host/Agent (as well as the RU Server) to the same version to avoid the version mismatch.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Hi Polina, thanks for the great news about the release of a newer beta. So, considering the fact that the new beta expires on March 1st 2021, should we expect the newer stable release later than this date or not?

Hi, i'm new on this forum, i'm having an issue with the latest beta for linux v1.0.6.b6, i am not able to transfer files remotely (perhaps i just can't find the option), i don't know if there is anyone with the same problem.
I was able to use the previous beta to transfer to and from without any problems

To my knowledge, the Linux native client does not offer file transfer between the viewer and host. Are you sure about this?

Hi,

Do you have a ETA implementation for this feature "Address book sync and authorization (Custom Server Security) via RU Server" for Linux and Mac? Especially for Mac, since we have a few users that have Mac.

Thank you.

Hi all,

I installed the latest 6.12.2.0 (b2) version of the host in my Windows 10 PC at work. Still the Linux native viewer is way much faster than the corresponding Windows version when running through Wine. But there are still issues with the keyboard, I still cannot put accents in the Greek vowel, which is a necessary feature for me. This is with the latest beta Linux binary (viewer1.0.5.b5.tar.gz).

@Polina, I've asked for ways to help you in that direction, is there anything from the developers in that respect?

So far, I've been using version 6.10.10 for Windows through Wine in my Gentoo Linux box. It works fine, but it'd be nice to have a fully working Linux native client. What I mean by that:

Today I downloaded the latest Linux beta client (1.0.4.q) and it works faster than the Windows version with Wine. But my main problem (except the fact that it lacks file manager and all the other features that the Windows client has) is the keyboard. I have to write in Greek in my remote computer and I have to use ; followed by the vowel to ins ert accents, like ά or έ or ϊ. The problem is that I cannot. Whatever keyboard input model I select, it doesn't work. And there are times that when I press the keys with the , or . or [ or ] characters, the displayed characters are the ones that appear when holding down the Shift key. So, I get < > { and } while I don't press Shift.

Using the Windows client with Wine, I can insert accents, but only when I have the keyboard in Linux switched to English and the keyboard on the remote computer switched to Greek. If the keyboards are switched to the same language, I cannot insert the accent. Just in case this somehow helps.

Thanks! I will try it out. But will this option stay in future releases?

Keyboard input issues after viewer 6.9.4

Hi,

I have the host installed at a remote computer (Windows) and I use the viewer part from my Linux PC that runs with Wine with no issues so far. After upgrading the viewer from 6.9.4 to 6.10.3, the keyboard does not work as it did in 6.9.4. I'm explaining the issue:

When I connect to the remote Windows PC I want to be able to type in Greek with accents. That worked by having my local keyboard (Linux) in English and the remote keyboard in Greek (reversed). By clicking the dead key button (the : ; key) for the accent and the corresponding vowel (eg. ά) I could type in the remote PC just fine. After upgrading to 6.10.3, this stopped working. Whatever language I had chosen in the remote PC, I always typed in the language selected in my Linux box. The problem is the accents. This way, I cannot put accents in the vowels.

After a bit of digging in the forum, I read that the keyboard input method changed in 6.10.3. Could you please elaborate? Is it possible to fix this somehow?

Thanks!
Vasilis
