Fatal Error rfusclient.exe not found

Hello Pam,

Thank you for the update on this.

Could you please clarify if there's any antivirus software installed on the remote Host machine?

Looking forward to your reply.

Wake On LAN

Hello David,

Thank you for your patience.

Here's the input I received from our developers: please make sure that you have previously already authenticated on this specific Host machine from the same Viewer at least once before using the WoL feature.
In case if you've previously already connected to the Host but the WoL feature still doesn't work properly, please do the following:
1. Create a new empty address book for testing purposes and add your Host to this address book.
2. Authenticate your Viewer (log on or connect) on this remote Host as you would normally do.
3. After your Viewer connected to the remote Host at least once, please export this test address book as described here and send the address book file to us to support@remoteutilities.com. Our developers will examine the address book file to see if they can identify what might be causing the issue.
Last but not least, please also make sure that you're using the latest version of Viewer 7.1.7.0 which is available for download on this page.

Hope that helps.

Availability of Host for MacOS

Hello Michael,

Thank you for your message.

Unfortunately, there's no ETA available for Mac/Linux Host for now as it's still in the development. We will definitely make an announcement for our users as soon as there are any news or updates regarding the release of Host/Agent for Mac/Linux.

Hope that helps.

Multi-Screen

Hello Markus,

Thank you for your message.

Unfortunately, the monitor mapping between Viewer's and Host's monitors cannot be done automatically yet, even though we already have this feature in our wish-list and it will be implemented in our future updates.
However, meanwhile the monitor mapping can also be done manually. Here's what you need to do in order to map your remote monitors to the local ones:

1. In your Viewer create a few different connections to the same remote Host, i.e. using the same IP address or Internet-ID code, but name them all differently, e.g. Monitor 1, Monitor 2, etc.
2. Disable the Tabbed view mode: in the main Viewer window navigate to the Tools tab and select Options, then navigate to the Remote screen tab and disable the Tabbed view checkbox.
3. Open all connections to the remote Host you've created on Step 1.
4. Select different monitors for each connection - this can be done by clicking the Remote monitors icon  on the Toolbar in the Full Control and View window.
5. Now you should be able to place the connection windows on the corresponding Viewer's monitors.

Hope that helps.

Wake On LAN

Hello David,

Thank you for the clarification.

I'll forward your question to our developers and will ask them for input on the issue.

I'll get back to you with an update on this shortly.

is it possible to log on multiple host ?

Hello,

Thank you for your message.

You can enable the Auto-logon feature for Hosts in your address book. However, please note that the automatic logon only works for Direct connection or Internet-ID connections via self-hosted RU Server.
In case if you use Internet-ID connection with our public servers and Single Password authentication method, then you can do the following:
1. Save the access credentials in the Connection Properties window.
2. Select multiple Hosts in the address book, right-click and select Log On.

Hope that helps.

Remotely update server ID

Hello Aleš,

Thank you for the clarification.

Of course, you can update any Host Settings remotely via the Remote Settings feature - Host will be restarted automatically after you submit the changes.
Alternatively, you can also generate a custom installation file using the MSI Configurator Tool - for example you can create an MSI package with updated RU Server address and then use it to update your Hosts via GPO or Remote Install Tool. This will allow you to update the Host Settings remotely as well.

Hope that helps.

Wake On LAN

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your messages.

Patrick, thank you for your input.

David, I will forward the issue to our development department to see if we're able to reproduce the issue in our environment. In order to do that, could you please let me know your current configuration where the issue occurs? For example, are your Host and Viewer located in the same LAN and subnet? What version of Remote Utilities you're running?

Looking forward to your reply.

Remote install without my knowledge

Hello,

Unfortunately, in case if there are no logs or other RU files stored on the machine, then there's no way for us to tell if it was accessed or not since the log files are only stored locally and we have no access to them - only the user themselves can access the log or setting files on their machine and we only request files to diagnose connectivity or configuration issues.
However, as we've mentioned before, if you believe that someone had obtained unauthorized access to your machine (which is illegal), then please consider contacting nearest police department in order to report this - in this case they can request the logs from our servers which might help taking the originating IP address of whoever accessed your machine. You can also provide our contact email privacy@remoteutilities.com to the police department.

Hope that helps.
