which type of windows user?
1. administrator
2. non-administrator

i am running as "2. non-administrator"

1. remoted into the host running RU 7.6.2.0.
note this does not happen to me if the host is running, 7.2.2.0
2. ran windows 11 update assistant
3. reboot
4. RU host was online?

this is happened 4 times.
please, see the attached screenshot.

host machine: windows 11 23H2, running RU 7.6.2.0

maybe i did not explain my self well, here are the steps to reproduce.


1. using RU viewer, remote into host
2. run windows 11 update assistant to update to 24H2
3. host reboots
4. using RU viewer, notice that host is offline, i CANNOT remote into host machine.
6. on host, cannot start service using service.msc. so i must press the windows key to display the windows start menu, type "start host", run as administrator.

nothing to update, as window machines were already running 7.6.2.0, before I updated to 24H2.

i have a dozen machines to update. so i guess i will have to install  [censored] and then have to manually start RU again.
but really, that is a not a solution.

that does not really make sense, if windows defender quarantined it, i would have to whitelist it.
and starting the host from manually would not work.
but anyway, i checked the protection logs, and found nothing. and RU was not quarantined.

just tried, starting manually that worked, but i had to do that by remoting in using  [censored] .

host and client run latest 7.6.2.0
after updating to windows 11 2H42, RU host will not run.
I was remotely updating a machine and after windows update rebooted, RU host would not run.
very painful to loose remote acess to a machine i was working on
so, maybe this was one time nightmare. i need to udpate many machines remotely.

today, i needed to do another updated, so i installed  [censored] before running windows update.
again, RU host will not run. but i can still remote in using  [censored] .

from some reason, cannot upload the screenshot.

here is the screenshot from  [censored] , showing RU host service cannot be started.
damn, cannot upload screenshot, cannot upload any image. getting stuck a 90%.

if you need a beta tester, let me know.
