Free license - good for 10 remote PCs?

Hello Jeff,

It means up to 10 records in your address book with which you can actively work, including concurrent use.

By "actively working" here I mean that, in theory, you can add more than 10 records to your address book even with the free license, but in this case you won't be able to establish a remote connection. The program will ask you to remove extra records and reduce their number to 10.

My business model is that I need to be on 1 or 2 customer computers at most at the same time. However, over the span of a month, I may be on 30 different customer computers.

If you still want to stay within the free license limits, you will have to replace records in your address book with new ones so that their total number is <= 10.

Hope that helps.

Hello Ian,

Apart from restarting the Host PC did you also try other solutions listed in that article?

Update on this issue: we contacted OpenDNS and they removed the block. Now it should be ok.

Hi John,

The trick is that you should completely uninstall the Viewer. Alternatively, you can just navigate to C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Remote Utilities Files\ (exit the Viewer first) and delete the file config_4.xml. This file contains Viewer options - in most cases the error appears because of the corrupted file.

Then start the Viewer again and see if the error persists.

Hi Ian,

Thank you for your post.

There may be different reasons that cause the issue, but first and foremost you should try to restart your remote Host PC if you didn't do so after Host installation.

Otherwise, please check out other solutions listed in this article:

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Hello John,

Thank you for your message.

Most likely your Viewer configuration files are corrupted somehow. They are stored in your user account folder rather than in the program installation folder.

Here is a related troubleshooting article:

Hope it will help.
