Hi David,
With regards to existing Host installations you can use the "/dispuninstall" command line parameter. Here is more information https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/docs/host-parameters/
Thanks.

Hi David,
Removing the driver from your package fixed the issue. Is that correct?
Looking forward to your reply.

Hello Mihir,
Thank you for your message.
You can locate the Host connection logs here "C:\Program Files (x86)\Remote Utilities - Host\Logs\". Agent logs are stored here "C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Remote Utilities Agent\Logs\".
If you locate the Internet-ID code used during remote connection you can contact the police and ask them to investigate. If the connection was made through the servers hosted by us (you can tell that from the logs) we can try looking up the originating IP address in our server logs.
Please, note that we can only disclose this originating IP address to the police or other authorities and only by their official request (warrant). See our privacy policy.
Hope that helps.

Hello Ivan,
We will be happy to help. You are a commercial license user, right? Could you please send us your license key to support@remoteutilities.com along with email address that you use for sending Host emails, and we will check that.
Please, note that starting version 6.10 there's no longer mail sending via our serves. Instead, users should embed their own SMTP server settings into the Host package. Here is more information https://www.remoteutilities.com/about/blog/Remote_Utilities/version-6.10/
Thanks.

Hi Alan,
I switched your account from using social authorization to using internal (site) authorization. Please, try entering your login and password again as you did earlier. This time it should work. If it doesn't , please let me know.
Thanks.

Legacy capture mode - explanations ?

Hello Thomas,
The difference between these two modes has to do with how screen capture is processed deep inside the operating system. Windows 8, 8.1 and Windows 10 require certain modifications to the mechanism. On the surface this difference just manifests itself in that check box that the user can check or uncheck to resolve problems with screen capture.
In most cases you should leave this checkbox the default (i.e. unchecked).

Hello Brian,
Thank you for your questions.
That said, the Host can still be set to start manually. Please, refer to this page for more information.
Thank you for your questions.
The Host runs as a system service and the default setting is to auto-start with Windows. You can tell if the Host is running by its icon in the system tray area (where the clock is).a) there's no launch icon anywhere - how do I launch it?

You need to enable the Internet-ID in the host settings and then copy it to the Viewer to use as the address of the remote computer. This guide will help you set up an Internet-ID connection https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/docs/connecting-over-the-internet/b) it didn't tell me, or ask me, what the Internet Id is.
Is security affected when using Internet_ID connection method?

Hello Rod,
Thank you for your message.
Bypassing a firewall doesn't mean that it's dangerous. Remote connection between RU Viewer and RU Host is always encrypted regardless of connection type used be it direct connection or Internet-ID connection. Here is more information about Remote Utilities security.
That said, Internet-ID connection simply removes the hassle of opening a port in your firewall settings which would be necessary if you decided to use direct connection. It may even be considered more secure (in terms of open ports) than direct connection since it doesn't require opening a port and creating a firewall rule.
Let me know if you have other questions.
