Yes, it seems like you’re doing it correctly. I’ve checked with our developers on the issue and they think that the issue is most likely caused by your system using Wayland as its display server catalogue instead of x11 (Xorg). Please try switching your system to using x11 instead and see if this helps to resolve the issue.

However, please note that just how Conrad have mentioned above, if you have a preferred authentication method for your Host, you can just select it in the connection properties, which will disable the algorithm and will use the specified method right away.

In this case, could you please verify if you’re using the latest version of Remote Utilities on both sides? It’s version 7.2.2.0 for Windows and version 1.0.17.q Beta 17 for Linux.

Please try using this Microsoft tool that can help to automatically fix issues when you’re blocked from installing/updating or removing software. Just download the troubleshooting, run it on your Host machine and follow the steps provided by the wizard.
