Host screen goes black when Viewer Logs In

Hello Julie,

Thank you for your message.

It looks like you might have the Blank the host's screen feature enabled in the Connection Properties -> Additional properties tab. Please try disabling this feature and see if the remote Host's screen works as expected during the connection.

Hope that helps.

Looking forward to your reply.

Can I assume that support for Wayland is eventually coming?

Yes, since Wayland is newer, we plan to eventually include its support in our upcoming updates for Linux.

Hello,

Thank you for your message.

Could you please clarify if you’ve already tried to fully uninstall Host following this guide? If you haven’t tried it yet, please try  doing so following the guide linked above and see if it helps to resolve the issue.

Hope that helps.

Beta testing: Remote Utilities for macOS/Linux

Hello Allan,

Yes, it seems like you’re doing it correctly. I’ve checked with our developers on the issue and they think that the issue is most likely caused by your system using Wayland as its display server catalogue instead of x11 (Xorg). Please try switching your system to using x11 instead and see if this helps to resolve the issue.

Hope that helps
