Firewall ports and unable to restart host
I'm sorry, but this is somewhat a bold statement. Remote Utilities has been used in many different companies and environments, including very big ones (some with up to 50 000 remote PCs dotted around the globe). Although we do our best to make it as easy to configure and use as possible, there are still some networks/environments with extremely strict (if not paranoid) rules we can't do anything about.I understand. I'm just letting someone know that as is, the product is unusable.
In such cases it is recommended to solve the issue on the "administrative level" - that is to add an exception in the software in the antivirus software/firewall, create a new company-wide policy etc. by getting permission from company executives/IT department.
Rebuilding PC
There are two XML files in the folder "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Remote Utilities Files\":
config_4.xml - where your Viewer's options/settings are stored
connections_4.xml - your connection list (also called "address book" with all the IDs and passwords, if the latter were saved)
So you can also just copy these two files and paste them in the same folder on the new Viewer PC (or the same PC if you re-installed the operating system).

I am also stuck waiting for the CNTRL ALT DEL function.
Our company is looking at the software for EU remote connection but not sure if they will wait very long. I would like to buy your premier package but........

Sorry if Anton was a bit direct trying to convey his message :) But anyway, I can assure you that this feature has the biggest priority when it comes to the next mobile release. And the release will be very soon!
And thanks for considering the purchase of Remote Utilities. We really appreciate it!
Agent asking for admin on win 8.1
Yes, that is correct.Marc Laferriere wrote
If i understand correctly, i can't use the agent in this fashion, since the host is already running on that computer? Is this why running the agent gets a UAC popup?
This issue needs a closer look. Would you mind creating a ticket in our ticketing system? In the ticket simply refer to this forum thread (give a link) instead of re-creating the description of the issue. Our technical support specialist will contact you via the ticket and provide personalized assistance. If so, how can i go about regaining access to this host device? Is there a method of seeing why the connection fails?
Thank you.
Agent asking for admin on win 8.1
Could you please elaborate on this. Does the Viewer asks you for access password? Or is it not able to access the Host at all (Host shows as being 'offline')?I'm no longer able to access a host computer
P.S. You won't be able to use Agent on the same computer where the Host is running, because these both modules are essentially the same.
how to configure for concurrent users?
Thank you for your message.
What you are describing is terminal sessions and is provided by Microsoft Terminal Services.
While Remote Utilities allows you to switch between already existing terminal sessions on the Full Control mode toolbar, it has no means of creating terminal sessions or being run as a terminal server. It's a different class of software with different licensing.
Hope that helps.
Access Network Shares/Drives

We are looking for this feature also. It would make RU the perfect fit for us. Do you have any idea when the feature for accessing Network drives in File Transfer mode may be added?
Thanks.
Support for network/mapped drives in the File Transfer mode is coming in version 5.7 due in a month or so.
Help with initial setup - cannot connect
Ok, I tried to connect but with no success. However, I couldn't ping the GMS' DNS name either. I have a question - is GMS in the same local network as the Host? That could explain why the Host/Hosts had easily connected to the GMS and were shown in the idle list. It can be so that the GMS is misconfigured or is simply not accessible out of the Internet by the DNS name you use. I assume that the computer with the GMS installed doesn't have an external IP address and is only available via a router. Did you set up a port forwarding rule on the router then?
I recommend you to check back the "Default server" checkboxes on both ends and try to establish remote connection using our default servers (you don't even have to change the ID, although it's recommended to re-generate it just in case). In this case you will at least get a general idea of how the program works, and then you might want to try more advanced options such as the GMS.
Hope that helps.

Make sure that the program is not blocked by antivirus software. I would recommend explicitly adding the path to the Viewer installation folder to your antivirus software exceptions.
So far I reckon no other explanations for such behavior other than extremely strict security settings or antivirus software activity.
