Hello Paul,

Thank you for your message. We should apologize :) This feature has  not yet been added but will be available very very soon.

When trying to run Advanced System Care remotely the "window" does not display even though the software is open on the host machine. Enabling "capture alpha-blending windows" under additional properties of the host machine corrected this issue when accessing via a windows machine, but there is no such setting via Android. Any suggestions?

Hello Jim. This setting is not yet available in the mobile client. We'll add it very soon in one of the nearest releases. Thanks!

Do you know when that might be?

Having a functioning ipad app will be really useful to me.

Thank you

We need to implement logging in the mobile version first. This will be done in one of the nearest updates. Without logging, it's hard to find the problem, it would be just guesses.

Meanwhile, could you please send us Host logs to support@remote-utilities.com. They are located in C:\Program Files\Remote Utilities - Host\Logs . You can zip the Logs folder before sending. In the message, please also specify in approximately what time of the day you were attempting connection from iPad. Since you were also connecting to the Host from the desktop Viewer, we need to distinguish that somehow.

Thanks!

Well I guess if that setting will prevent a user from right clicking the host icon and shutting it down, then yes.

I would want a password confirmation after a user clicked close host before the host would actually be closed.

Jamie,

To prevent the user from shutting down the Host, use the "Hide Stop  Host menu item" option in Settings for host -> Options -> General tab.

That is, first enable this option and then protect the Host with settings. This way the remote user will neither be able to stop the Host, nor change its settings.

Hope that helps.

Ah ha. That did the trick. Thanks for that as had me head scratiching and plying with settings but didn't look at "alpha-blending"! Actually this was also an issue if opening the Remote Utilities Config settings from next to clock. One could open it but not select the Drop down to show the settings. All is well now. Thanks again.

Each software has its quirks :) The alpha-blending related question has become so legendary among our support team, that we even made a separate KB article for it.

Hi,
When I open Log-Me-In from the bottom right (next to clock) the configuration page should appear on the main screen but doesn't. It shows as though it is open looking at the Task bar as I can see the Icon.
As a Test, If I connect to the PC using MS RDP and check, I can see the LMI App screen without issue. I have tested this on 2 PC's (XP and Win7) and same problem exists.

Why is Remote Utilities hiding this app from showing on main screen?

PS: I checked other APPs located near the clock and when double clicked them they open and show fine.

Hello Mark,

Perhaps, the application uses some sort of alpha-blending. Here's the workaround https://www.remoteutilities.com/support/kb/some-windows-or-menus-are-not-visible/

Thanks.

Free Licence with Multipe Users Query please

So are saying that, one can have unlimited numbers of users connect to the Host PC (as long as those users don't have more that 10 remote hosts in their Viewers).

A Host can accept multiple incoming connections, including simultaneous ones.

Does this mean that If I had 10 X remote hosts in my Viewer, I could remove 5 and then add 5 others later as long as I know the remote Host ID? Is that correct?

Yes. Just don't forget to unregister (there's a feature/option) the Host you no longer use. You can transfer your license from one Host to another. For the Free License, the total number of registered Hosts should not exceed 10.

For simplicity's sake, forget about the Viewer for a while. Think Host. 1 Person (or Business) can have 1 Free License product key that can be used to register 10 Hosts. That's it. The Viewer is just a free module that allows you to connect to the Host. Yes, it has some protection measures implemented, but the primary protection measure is the EULA itself.

Hope that helps.

Scott,

Thank you for the detailed information. We will try to figure out what the cause might be and update the software.

Greetings, Mark

Thank you for your interest.

Question1: Is this possible with the Free version and if so how many Licences does this use up. In this example we have it installed on 2 PC’s with three Operators.

You need only one license. Apply the product key on the two computers (Office 1 and Office 2) and connect to them from other computers where the Viewer is installed.

As an independent IT Support consultant with potentially my own Free Licence. If I connect to Mary’s PCs, is this using up one of her licences OR one of my free 10?

The license is applied on the Host, not on the Viewer. Once you register the Host, you can connect to it from any number of Viewers. Your address book in the Viewer can hold no more than 10 remote PCs registered with a Free License (regardless of who owns the license). These are protective measures to ensure the EULA is not violated. Another measure is that you cannot own and store in the License Key Storage more than one Free License and use the Free License alongside a paid license, because the paid license is supposed to entirely replace the free one. Please, check the Licensing page for more information.

Feel free to ask me if you have any questions. Thanks!
